The Fergus Falls Economic Improvement Commission (EIC) is an independent commission serving as the official economic development arm to the City of Fergus Falls and the coordinator of the Job Opportunity Building Zone (JOBZ) program.
The purpose of the Fergus Falls Economic Improvement Commission is to promote development through the retention, enhancement, and creation of businesses in the community.
Fergus Falls’ formal economic development program began in 1984, dedicated to assisting current and prospective manufacturing businesses expand or relocate to the area. Project 2000 was formed in 1993 to continue the growth of manufacturing in the City. In 2003 the name was changed to Fergus Falls Area Economic Improvement Commission to better describe the program.
